Celebrate The Small Things : Betas & Wattpad & Rose Bushes

Posted on March 26, 2015
This post is part of Lexa Cain's brainchild blog hop, and the goal is to take a step back and see the good that you've done this past week. Life is short, so let's go!

Check it out on Wattpad
  • I sent out my Family Relics manuscript out to a couple of beta readers. Now I know who likes fantasy and who doesn't amongst my small group. Just like romance isn't for everyone, neither is fantasy.
  • I put up a short story collection on Wattpad titled Inside The Lives Of Isabel & Leo. Unedited, except for mild editing using grammarly. I love that service. Totally worth the fee. I will add stories as they come. How about this cover I created with GIMP. Not too shabby...
  • Trimmed my lovely rosebushes down as much as possible. They needed a good trimming. I usually cut the bush by half every other year. I expect purple, red and pink roses. I can't wait until they bloom.
  • Spring freaking cleaning! Can I get a fist bump from someone?!?! Doesn't it feel great when you throw out tons and tons of crap that has been collecting on your dining table, closets, under the bed, and who knows where else. I LOVE SPRING CLEANING!!

So that's it. Whew! I'm zonked. I am in between laptops for the next two weeks, meaning my laptop is on the fritz and my new one won't be here until then. I will be "borrowing" (which really means confiscating) my daughter's laptop in the meantime. Thanks Dell for your speedy service, but whatever. It's time for a new laptop, and the one I'm getting is so worth the wait.

Check out all the cool people below. Join the blog hop! Have a great week!

  1. You're a busy beaver! Congrats on getting that MS out AND for getting the stories up! Me and roses still need to come to an understanding (although I love them). As to Spring Cleaning....I really need to get to that.

    1. T. Drecker, you should try rose bushes. They are so easy to maintain and care for, and they bloom from Spring until Fall. Note roses on their own - those are hard. I've killed a couple of rose plants. They hate me. Rose bushes love me!

  2. Your cover is AMAZING! I've been struggling to create one for an upcoming zombie short story I want to pub, and it's nowhere near as awesome as yours. My CP group also has many different genres, but craft is craft no matter what genre, so we have o problem critting each other. Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Thanks Lexa! This cover works for the light-heartedness of the content, and I think that's why it's so easy for me to create. My WIP is fantasy/thriller, and I haven't a clue what I want as the cover.
