This month, I find myself in the middle of an avalanche of circumstances. My kids are home all day for the summer, home renovations on my entire 2nd floor, re-organization from renovations, lots of cleaning and throwing things out, travel softball and soccer practices & games, family visits, day trips...

It's been a little hectic, to say the least. And dusty. There are boxes everywhere.

Since I write in silence, I have not been able to write much with all that's going on in the house. But, I have been able to prepare for my book launch of The Box Of Souls for August 14th. So, it kind of all worked out.

Anyway, less than two months ago I posted my TODO list for the book launch, and I've completed the list, for the most part, and now I'm in a state of zen.

Aside from guest posts on other blog sites, social media posts, and plugs I can get here and there, the whole thing is out of my hands. My book is out there for the world to buy, read, love, hate, judge, review, etc...

It is done.

Zen.

  1. Congratulations on your upcoming release! Oh my you do have a lot going on. I would find it impossible to write through that too but it will probably give you a wealth to write about when it is quiet in your house again.

    1. Doreen, it is tough to concentrate when you feel the boxes on top of you. It got to a point where I was looking for space to put my laptop. I actually took a photo of my desk with all the clutter around it.

  2. Very cool cover (and I don't say that to everybody). Congrats on your release!

I also write best in silence. I'd like to become one of those writers who can write anywhere, anytime.

Here is my August IWSG post. It's the second post on my blog today because my Pitch Wars mentor bio needs to stay at the top. Thanks!

    1. I went to a diner one afternoon, but I became so self conscience on my "rest face" and my "concentration face" and wondered if people noticed when I giggled. I lasted about 1 hour, three cups of coffee and a plate of toast. Not sure I can write just anywhere...

    1. The routine will surely start when the kiddos are back in school. "It's the most wonderful time of year..."
