Forgetful Dreamers
Posted on June 2, 2016

Every night we close our eyes
And wonders take us by surprise
To exotic lands far and near,
To happy places and those we fear,
To decades past and future days,
To defeated hours and minutes of praise,
To worlds so deep into outer space,
To meet beings unlike the human race,
To fly like eagles and swim like sharks,
To hear strange voices, jingles, and barks,
To see pink skies over mountains of steel,
To imagine the impossible in a world so real,
And in the morning when we open our eyes
We forget almost everything, to our surprise.

  4. That is a gorgeous image. I love the couplets! I actually wrote a poem in couplets to describe my collection of short stories (Heart Stopper and Other Stories on Amazon if you are curious).

I saw the last IWSG post and must say that tunnel looks fabulous. Our kitty has been having a blast playing in a little house (designed for young kids) made of the same material and she loves it. Our bigger cat used to sit on my lap in the winter while I typed and if my arm movements bothered him, he would bite me!

    1. Thank you Tamara! My cat definitely takes up my lap whenever he feels the need. I do mind, but at the same time I don't. He is a 13-pounder, so there's no working "around" him. :-)
