Of course, I write a post about how I'm going to be heads-down on The Onyx Ring, the 2nd book in the Family Relics series, and then the procrastination bug hits me. The planets must be out of alignment, or maybe I had too much Manchego cheese on Tuesday. Have you ever had Manchego cheese? It's hard to just have one piece, or ten. I won't even mention the Oreo Thin Crisps I discovered last weekend. Maybe my blood-sugar level is low. Better eat another crisp to be on the safe side.

But it isn't without just cause. On Thursday morning, I started an intense scene and I suddenly found myself doing some hard-core inner-soul type of thinking. The kind of thinking that has you doing multiple u-turns when driving because you keep passing your destination. Or the kind of thinking that has you washing your hair 3 times during a single shower, and you screem from the icy cold water slapping your back because the hot water ran out.

Yeah... that kind of thinking.

I've been MIA for a while, mainly because I am working on The Onyx Ring, the 2nd book in the Family Relics series, and I am into it like it's the best piece of hazelnut chocolate-filled croissant pastry I've ever had, covered in crushed almonds and hazelnut chocolate drizzle, served with a tall glass of whole milk.

This week, I am celebrating that my own brother badgered me a little about me NOT writing the sequel to The Box Of Souls fast enough. My big bro, who is an AVID fantasy reader, like the entire Dragon Lance series kind, loved my book and asked me when I was coming out with the next one. 

When I told him it would possibly be out by December of 2016, he gave me the stink eye.

It was a nice feeling. I'm totally soaking it up while I work on book two.
