Now I am all about being grateful for everything I have in my life, but with my more-than-normally-acceptable fear of The Fates, as I expressed in my 40th birthday post a few months ago, I tend not to list them out one by one. Don't know what The Fates are? You can read about them here.

So, instead of being too specific about things I am thankful for (family, friends, etc.), I will list a few of the not-so-obvious things that make me aware of OTHER things I should be thankful for.

Today, my daughter turns 14. It's bittersweet. You don't want your kids to grow up, yet you can't wait to see the young adult they will become. She is truly amazing. I still can't believe I created her. This week, she is my celebration.
