A Year In Books - My Favorites of 2014
Posted on December 30, 2014
Before we welcome the new year, I thought I'd list out the books that had an impact on me in 2014. Of the books I've read this past year, here are my favorites, in no particular order.

My Favorite Books for 2014 are:

Wonder by R.J. Palacio

A wonderful story about a boy overcoming physical issues and the friends and enemies he makes along the way. If you have kids, you will cry throughout this book.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

A story that hangs between life and death, as only Neil Gaiman can tell it, and from the eyes of an orphaned child. There is whimsy, drama, and a touch of horror, all covered in a layer of sweet magic. You'll be dreaming of graveyards after you read this.

Saga by Brian K. Vaughan (Author) and Fiona Staples (Illustrator)

A sci-fi/fantasy graphic novel of an interracial family struggling through war between their two worlds. A realistic love story and amazing artistry - so worth getting all their volumes in hard copies. It's a series, so you might get hooked.

Volume #1: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1607066017

Making it Home by Christine Campbell

A lifelong couple suddenly finds themselves wanting a different life than the one they've spend decades cultivating. A love story told with the charm of a wise author with a casual voice - it feels like a long conversation over coffee about real people. You will love it!
